Inspiring Social Skills through Media (Online)
September 23–December 16 (12 weeks, no class Nov. 25)
Wednesdays, 7pm–8pm
Ages: 18+
Social skills lessons can provide opportunities for adults to identify social cues and communication skills in typical social settings. The participants in this class will watch assigned shows, films, episodes, clips and/or other forms of media ahead of time and then we will explore, online, the social skills portrayed in the various media forms.

Using a variety of media formats as a basis for lessons helps break down the behaviors and allows for conversations and instruction on appropriate vs inappropriate behaviors. This information can be applied in real life settings.  There are opportunities to learn about creating relationships, time management, body language, learning about facial expressions, interpersonal skills, conversation starters, self-esteem, building rapport with others, building a reputation, learning about occupations, etc.

This model can also provide practical experience using role play as the characters or as themselves. Character role play may ease anxieties individuals have about discussing these topics and trying them out in a safe environment.

Join Melissa Hochberg for this new and exciting program to enhance a variety of skills while virtually in the company of your peers! Registration is first-come, first-served and must be received by Wednesday, September 16. Limited space available.
Fee:     $240
