The Pozez JCC is excited to offer children enrolled in kindergarten through fourth grade the opportunity to attend CHAI 5, our new after school program! Children registered in the program are able to grow and develop in a supportive environment that is safe, structured, and fun - all while interacting with their peers participating in specialty activities programing, swimming, and enjoying snack!
CHAI 5 operates after school five days a week until 6pm at the Pozez JCC.
Eligible elementary schools include Mantua, Gesher Jewish Day School, Canterbury Woods, and Wakefield Forest
Specialty activities are available three times per week and swimming in the Pozez JCC’s heated, indoor pool the other two days. Activity choices rotate every five weeks and may include the following:
• Performing Arts
• and more!
CHAI 5 gives children the opportunity to rank their activity preferences prior to the start of each 5-week activity instruction block. Participants have the chance to choose new preferences every five weeks. Options may change each session based on participant interest. CHAI 5 is a choose-your-own after school adventure that allows each child the opportunity to explore their interests in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment!
Designed specifically for children beginning their school-aged journeys, CHAI 5 Jr. is comprised of our kindergarteners. The CHAI 5 Jr. program offers a nurturing, positive experience that will help ease the transition to elementary school for our youngest participants by providing a safe, engaging, and inclusive space.
Children will come to the Pozez JCC directly from school. Mantua Elementary School and Gesher JDS provide transportation to the Pozez JCC. For children attending CHAI 5 from Wakefield Forest and/or Canterbury Woods elementary schools, a limited number of spaces will be available via our CHAI 5 shuttle at an additional cost.
More information on pick-up from Wakefield Forest ES & and Canterbury Woods ES will be made available closer to the 2021-22 school year.
Please contact your child’s school to make any necessary bus and/or pick up arrangements.
CHAI 5 participants dismiss from the program every afternoon between 5:45pm–6pm by carpool. CHAI 5 staff and signage will be visible in the parking lot directing the carpool line.
If you need to pick up your child before 5:45pm, please email or call the School-Age Services office to arrange an earlier pick up. Please note, by picking a child up early from the program, their ability to participate in the focused activities portion of CHAI 5 cannot be guaranteed.

• Each car should have the carpool card face-up on the right-hand side of the dashboard for easy visibility.
