Matthew has been in the fitness industry for more than 30 years and has been working at the J since 1996. He is a certified personal trainer through AFPA, a certified kickboxing/boxing coach, and holds a 3rd Degree Black belt from the American Karate/Kickboxing Institute. What Matthew most enjoys about working at the J are the wonderful members and being able to share his love of fitness. In his spare time, he enjoys motorcycle touring across the United States, spending time with his wife and kids, and playing with his Boston terrier. His training philosophy is “fitness is forever.”

Jane Hansen

Jane has enjoyed fitness through years of jogging and as a Jazzercise group instructor.  After raising four children, Jane returned to George Mason University and received her degree in Exercise Science in 2012.  Since then she has enjoyed working as a personal trainer at the Pozez JCC and teaching Jazzercise Strength 60.  When Jane is not at the J she enjoys continuing education in fitness, gardening with the Arlington Rose Foundation, DAR, and enjoying her three grandchildren.

Armando Luyando

Armando serves as both a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor at the J. He is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with 7 years of experience. Armando graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Later, he worked heavily with the University of Richmond Strength and Conditioning department. Armando's main focus is helping his clients reach their goals through proper exercise execution, selection, and programing. When not at work, Armando enjoys spending time with his two dogs, eating Chipotle, and enjoying outdoor activities.

Karen Pinckard

Karen has worked as a personal trainer for 17 years and a Massage Therapist for over 30 years. She is an accomplished Ultra marathoner and a member of the 7 Continents marathon running group. Karen has also completed 125 half marathons all over the globe. In high school she was a competitive swimmer reaching National level meets. For fun, Karen has swam from Alcatraz 12 times.
She will help you rebuild your strength and fitness levels with care to detail and careful progressions. Stability and flexibility are core issues facing older populations. She believes exercise has many benefits that encompass wellness of the mind, body and spirit.

In her spare time Karen is an avid bird watcher and photographer.

Cindy Rosen

Cindy has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Penn State University and served in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years before becoming a certified personal trainer through the National Personal Training Institute. She has taught aerobics and swimming, and has a wide range of fitness knowledge and certifications, making her a very well-rounded trainer. Cindy enjoys working with people and helping them reach their personal fitness goals — she loves it when her clients say, “I never thought I could do this, but now I can!” In her free time, Cindy enjoys cooking (healthy food!), working out, and spending time with her family!

   Marissa Salli

Marissa brings her wealth of knowledge from the mental health treatment arena into her work with clients focusing on wellness. She believes transformation happens when you bring the mind and body into alignment. Marissa is a certified personal trainer with the National Association of Sports Medicine. She earned her MSW from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY and was the Clinical Director of Kolmac Clinic (Intensive outpatient addiction treatment) in Alexandra, VA and Washington, DC.

Marissa’s goal is to help you develop self-compassion, love putting your health first and make fitness fun. Let’s transform together!

Jeff Tauriello

Fitness Manager

Jeff earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Wellness Management from Rowan University in 2016 and Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Kean University in 2020. He previously managed corporate fitness centers for over 4 years before transitioning to his most recent role as Fitness Manager at the Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia in 2020. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, playing golf, tennis, and cooking. Jeff’s philosophy is “Living a healthy and active lifestyle starts with the right mindset. This is possible with proper functional exercise, nutrition, and recovery methods. Small adjustments lead to GREAT improvements!”
