Our heated, six-lane indoor 25-meter swimming pool has a graduated depth from 3.5’ to 8’. A permanent access ramp provides 0’ to 3.5’ depth access for use by individuals in wheelchairs, small children, and others with special needs. The pool temperature varies between 83 and 85 degrees. In the locker room, there are lockers, showers and saunas available.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, the J-Fit Health Club's Aquatics Center offers 45-minute lane reservations beginning on the 30th minute of each hour. The pool is open Sunday-Friday for all J-Family Members. J-Journey and J-Pass holders may purchase $10 Day Passes for access to the pool. Reservations for all aquatics programs are required in advance through the Pozez JCC MINDBODY app. If you must cancel, please update your reservation in the app, call the front desk at 703-323-0880 or email Sophie.Borchers@theJ.org so a member on the waiting list is able to swim.
Due to the increasing popularity and usage of the pool, here is a quick reminder of our lane reservation policies and procedures.
There are not designated family swim hours, therefore, it is important that each family reserve two spaces for any 45-minute session in order to reserve a lane for the family (more than one swimmer). To reserve a dedicated lane, reservations must be made for two swimmers (ages 13+). A parent is able to chaperone their entire family without the need for the second adult, but the reservation policy requires two swimmers ages 13+ to reserve the lane.
If you are making these reservations through the MindBody app, you will need two logins with two separate emails. Here is a link that will walk you through setting up a MindBody account: https://www.thej.org/j-fit/reservations/ If you are using the Mindbody website we can link the primary user’s account with the secondary adult so that the primary user can reserve a lane for both themselves and the secondary user. Please email Sophie.Borchers@theJ.org to set this up. In the scenario that an adult is bringing one child under the age of 13 and does not have a second adult in the household, please give the J a call so they can manage the lane by adding a second adult.
If a family signs up with only one reservation and brings a child or family to swim, it is likely the family will be asked to leave since they may not be able to be accommodated with a dedicated lane.

NOTE: If you register for a class or session and are unable to attend, please update your reservation in the Fitness Reservations app or call 703.323.0880 to inform the J that you will not be attending to make room for another member who is on the waiting list.
All members are welcome to sign up for lane reservations which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are mandatory and can be made up to 7 days in advance. In an effort to accommodate the increased demand for our pool, lap swimming, family swim and open swim are available at all times – please see the reservation requirement for family swim and children under 12 years old. Remember to bring a towel as towels are not provided by the J.
Please note that during Open Swim, there may also be other programs running concurrently such as Water Aerobics, Private or Group Swim Classes, Aqua Personal Training or other programs. The Pozez JCC Mindbody reservation system should reflect how many slots are available during each swim block.
1. Up to two people may swim per lane (6 lanes at a time; may come from different households) unless a family has reserved a lane, group swim lessons or semi-private swim lessons.
2. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult in the water.
3. Families and children under the age of 12 must reserve lanes under two different names to ensure a lane to themselves.
4. There is a 15-minute grace period for all swim reservations. Lane reservations will be held for the first 15 minutes; however, if not in use by that time, the reservation may be given away to a waiting member. Please cancel your reservation in the app or call the front desk to avoid having it reassigned (703.323.0880).
If a private lesson has reserved a lane appropriately (under two names) they may arrive at the top of the hour and ask swimmers to share a lane for the last 15 minutes.
Members and guests must wear face coverings while indoors at the J when sharing a common area. Masks are not required in the water but should be nearby and accessible to wear on the pool deck and upon entering the locker rooms. If alone in a J-Fit space, the mask can be removed. Should two, or more, people be in the same space, masks must be worn regardless of vaccination status. Social distancing continues to be recommended where possible.
