Virtual J Talks with Alan Zweibel: Laugh Lines – My Life Helping Funny People Be Funnier
Thursday, February 24, 2pm-3pm
In partnership with the Bender JCC of Greater Washington Featuring Alan Zweibel, award-winning comedic writer, and author
We are thrilled to welcome Saturday Night Live writer, Alan Zweibel! He is an American television writer, author, playwright, and screenwriter whom The New York Times says has “earned a place in the pantheon of American pop culture.” His tender, funny memoir, Laugh Lines – My Life Helping Funny People Be Funnier, weaves together the stories of his influential career in television and feature films, and on Broadway. Zweibel shares his candid and heartwarming anecdotes — selling jokes for $7 apiece to Borscht Belt standups, being one of the first writers at S.N.L., having a hand in a series of landmark shows, and successfully collaborating with comedy greats like Billy Crystal, Garry Shandling, Martin Short, Larry David and Dave Barry. Come and listen to this 5-time Emmy Award winner and be prepared to laugh your socks off! Questions? Contact Shari.Berman@thej.org or 703.537.3068.
