Celebrate Trees! Planting with Purpose (Virtual)
Thursday, January 13, 7:30pm (via Zoom)
Featuring: Margaret Fisher, Fairfax Master Naturalist, Audubon-at-Home Ambassador, and Fairfax Invasives Management Area volunteer site leader

Everyone knows that trees are important to our environment. We have witnessed the negative impacts of cutting down trees in the Amazon and other regions of the world, and the resulting harm to ecosystems and our planet's overall health. The benefits of trees are numerous; trees provide shade, food such as fruits and nuts, homes for animals and insects, decreased erosion and storm water runoff, and provide health and safety benefits to humans.

What you may not know is just how important native trees are to our environment in Northern Virginia. This Plant NoVA Native/Plant NoVA Trees presentation will make a strong case for the continued planting and rescuing of native trees in Fairfax County. A Q&A will follow Ms. Fisher presentation.

Just a few days before “Tu B’Shevat” – the Jewish holiday commemorating Arbor Day in Israel – and on the heels of the J’s newest gallery exhibit opening, Tree of Life – could there be a better time to talk trees?!
