Host Families - Summer Shlichim

Calling all families looking for a unique cultural experience…

Looking to bring a taste of Israel into your home?   There is no better way to do so than host one of our  Shlichim (Israel Emissaries) for part of the summer!

Two Shlichim will be joining us this summer to share their Israeli culture, knowledge and spirit with Camp Achva!  The Shlichim are mature, educated young adults who have completed army or national service and are experienced in the areas of formal and informal education as counselors, teachers, youth or child care workers.

Our Shlichim are hosted by families in our community during their stay with us in.  We are seeking any family that would be interested in hosting one of our Shlichim for a 3 to 6-week period this summer.

All Shlichim go through a rigorous interview process along with a 4-day training seminar in Israel to prepare them for life in the States. All Shlichim speak English well and are very excited about spending the summer at camp and with your family!

If you are interested in hosting for a part of the summer or all of the summer, please call or e-mail the Camp Achva Office, 703.537.3092 or CampAchva@theJ.org so we can discuss this further.
