After business hours, in the early morning of Monday, January 13, there was a burglary at our JCC. According to the initial assessment by Fairfax County Police, there is no indication that the break-in was motivated by anti-Semitism.
The J will open for business as usual on Tuesday, January 14th at 6:30am and run its normal program schedule.
Thank you for your understanding regarding the closure on Monday due to the burglary. The police were able to conduct a thorough investigation and have posted this description of the incident in its Weekend Recap:
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY: 8900 Little River Turnpike (Pozez Jewish Community Center), 1/12/20, 11:54 p.m. Two men broke into the location and stole property. Both suspects are described as 28 to 35 years old and between 5’9” – 6’ tall. The suspects may be driving a silver mid to late 2000’s Dodge Caravan.
We continue to be optimistic that this case will be solved and the perpetrators brought to justice.
